Giovanni Galli (Pisa, April 29, 1958) is an Italian former footballer, goalkeeper role.
He was nominated for mayor of Florence for the center-right coalition in local elections of 2009.
He was a member of the rose of the 22 who participated in the expedition of the 1982 World Cup, but being third-choice goalkeeper behind Zoff and Bordon, never got to the field. Instead it will be the owner four years later on the occasion of the World 1986, where he will undergo six goals in four games, being singled out for this as one of the leaders of elimination. He defended the port of Fiorentina from 1977 to 1986, when it goes to Milan, where in three years to win two European Cups (1988-1989 and 1989-1990), a title (1987-1988), an Intercontinental Cup (1989) , a European Supercup (1989), an Italian Super Cup (1988).
From 1990 to 1993 played in Naples, where he won another Italian Super Cup in ’90 and in the 1993-1994 season, defending the port of Turin. In the next championships in Parma as the second of Luca Bucci and which won the UEFA Cup.
In October of 1995 goes to Lucca, where the sports career ends in 1996.
With his 496 appearances is the eleventh in the rankings appearances in Serie A.
Today is also a columnist and television commentator. In the season 1997-1998 he was Director of Sports Foggia, Puglia year when the team was relegated to C1.
